Course Tour

The first hole is a comfortable straight forward medium length par 4 to get your round started.
This hole plays slightly down hill and slopes left to right.
One less club is usually the correct play here on your approach shot into a well bunkered green featuring sand left, right and back.
Get ready to putt on the Wallingford Country Club greens which have a long-standing reputation of being ranked amongst the top in the state of Connecticut.

This hole is a slight dogleg left par 4 which plays a little longer than the yardage on the card.
The green is elevated and well bunkered sloping from right to left so favor the right side on your approach.

The number 1 handicap hole.
A classic tree lined par 4 which plays slightly uphill to a medium sized green.
A well-placed tee shot favoring the left side of the fairway will open up the green for a better angle on your approach.
Take your par and move on.

This par 3 is the most challenging amongst the four par 3's on the course.
A long uphill par 3 puts a premium on a straight shot.
Missing this green left, right or long is trouble, so 3 is a great score here.

Time to score!
A straight away par 5 with out of bounds down the left side.
Long hitters can have a go at the green in two, otherwise favor the left side to set up a clear third shot.
Hit your second shot right and you will be blocked out by trees on the right.

A picturesque short par 3 protected by a pond in front.
A challenging shot over the fountain pond from the championship tee.
Take enough club to carry the pond protecting the green which slopes from back to front.

The first of three challenging par 4's to finish the front nine.
What you see is what you get here.
Out of bounds down the left side and a lateral penalty area down the right will catch a wayward shot.
Two good shots will reward you with reaching this large green, which slopes dramatically from back to front.

Another longer par 4 which puts a premium on a good straight drive.
Trouble lurks to the right in the form of a lateral penalty area.
Miss the fairway left, and you will have large trees to contend with on your second shot to a large green which slopes from back to front.
This hole will test your ball striking ability, especially from the championship tee.

Finish the outward nine with a slight dogleg right par 4.
The dogleg is protected by trees putting a premium on a well struck drive to have a clear approach to a slightly elevated green protected by front bunkers to the left and right.
Big hitters may want to have a go at driving over the trees on the right with a slight draw to set up a wedge shot into the green.
